Description: 18,500 seat sports/entertainment stadium Team: Philadelphia Union (MLS) Architect: Rossetti Architects CM/GC: TN Ward Project Cost: $115,000,000 Status:  Completed - June 27, 2010

Description:

Located on the Delaware River at the foot of Commodore Barry Bridge, the new PPL Park is another example of cost efficient design and project management ingenuity by ICON and Rossetti. The $115 million all-in budget and $81 million construction GMP belie a level of quality comparable to any of its peer MLS stadia. Water table limitations made it impossible to sink the soccer pitch below grade, but other economies were found to reduce structure and consolidate MEP installations to reduce first cost and enhance operating economics. The new stadium will anchor a mixed-use waterfront development and become a world class destination for soccer fans across the tri-state area.

Services:

I’ve worked with ICON now on two very difficult stadium projects. The first when I ran the MetroStars and could not have been more impressed with their experience and how they conduct a project. When I got my second stadium deal done and took over the Philadelphia Union, I didn’t hesitate to call ICON to activate our new stadium project. They are simply the best in the business.
