Description:
While smaller than most ICON arena projects, the 5,800-seat Broomfield Event Center was not short on challenges. Broomfield Sports and Entertainment, in cooperation with the City of Broomfield, desired a venue with fan features and acoustic qualities on par with Pepsi Center. With an all inclusive budget of just $45 million, ICON had to be creative in choosing how to derive the greatest impact from the limited dollars. With minor league hockey and basketball tenants in place, a multipurpose seating bowl was conceived to optimize sight lines and intimacy for both sports without compromising the concert environment. The inclusion of an LED center hung scoreboard, upholstered theatre-style seating and best-in-class audio system has given the City of Broomfield the “major league” entertainment center they wanted.
