Description:
ICON Venue Group was hired by the Vancouver Whitecaps as the team representative to ensure that the BC Place modernization would be completed in compliance with team requirements and MLS facility standards. The renovations of BC Place will occur in two phases. Phase I, completed prior to the Winter 2010 Olympic games, consisted primarily of the redevelopment of all common spaces, concessions, washrooms, exterior plazas, media facilities, dressing rooms and general public areas in addition to a comprehensive refurbishment of all suites, and the establishment of a club seat area. Phase two of the renovation plan includes the installation of a state-of-the-art retractable roof and additional soccer-specific renovations including on-field seating, a secondary roof, end zone curtain, premium seating, turf upgrade, retractable seating, ribbon boards, and a center hung scoreboard.
